About the Awards
In 2009, Women In Defense Michigan established the WID Michigan Horizon Leadership Awards to recognize defense and national security professionals who distinguish themselves in their field and help their organizations achieve critical business objectives and goals.
Winners are announced each year at the WID Michigan Black Tie Gala.

How do we select finalists and winners?
A selection committee of Women In Defense members and industry professionals consider qualifications based on information provided on the nomination form. The best candidates are invited to be interviewed. After all interviews are complete, finalists (and winners) are chosen by the committee. All finalists are notified and invited to attend the WID Michigan Annual Black Tie Gala, where the winners are announced.
