WID Michigan High School Scholarship
Our WID Michigan High School Scholarship is for women in their senior year of high school who plan to attend a Michigan university next fall and are interested in STEM.
This scholarship is an exciting first step for many young women to not just begin a career in a STEM field but also in defense. Some of our own members or partners in the defense industry received this scholarship.
The scholarship amount is determined based on fundraising efforts, so please participate and support WID events! For more information, email our Scholarship Chair at scholarships@wid-mi.org.

Applicants Must Meet the Following Eligibility Criteria:
- Be a woman
- Be a resident of Michigan and a United States citizen
- Be a senior high school (grade 12) student and currently enrolled full time
- Demonstrate achievements in Science, Technology, Engineering & Math (STEM)
- Demonstrate interest in pursuing a career related to national security or defense
- Be active in school and/or the local community
- Be planning to attend an accredited Michigan university or college, either full-time or part-time
- Have a minimum GPA of 3.0
WID Michigan College Scholarship
Women in Defense Michigan established the WID Michigan Scholarship Program in 2009 to encourage women to pursue careers related to the national security and defense interests of the United States, and to provide development opportunities to women already working in these fields. From the program’s inception to date, more than $100,000 in scholarships have been awarded.
Applicants Must Meet the Following Eligibility Criteria:
- Be a woman
- Be a resident of Michigan and a United States citizen
- Be currently enrolled at an accredited Michigan university or college, with at least junior status (60 credits)
- Demonstrate educational expenses
- Have a minimum GPA of 3.0
Support the WID Michigan Scholarship Program
- Share information about the WID Michigan Scholarship program to increase awareness and applicant interest
- Donate to support the WID Michigan Scholarship, as an individual or organizational donor. WID Michigan Scholarship donors are some of the most well-known names in the defense industrial base.
